I really appreciate all the staff at western slope for there care services and assistance guiding me through my dads end of life care. Its been a long road but they were there to assist us through this difficult process and i would highly recommend this facility to any other families.

The folks who actually worked here worked very hard but for the most part this facility was only out to get paid and probably should be audited by the state. We rarely could reach people on the phone, treated patients poorly, would not answer call button. Took 45 minutes to get someone in the room to help my father’s roommate off the floor as he fell. Lost laundry, lack of care overall, I wouldn’t recommend this facility at all

No care facility is perfect as there will always be disgruntled employees no matter the trade. My experience with the staff here for the most part and been friendly and helpful. My mom seems to be very healthy and they make sure she gets out of the bed and indulges in activities. If I notice something that’s no getting done regularly, I let the staff know and they correct it immediately. It helps if you visit your loved ones often. As for us we see her at 4-5 days a week. I’d like to give a shout out to Kimber and Shanaynay and Anna. There’s others too. The PT crews and Jen & Amy..

My mother spent the last six months of her life at Western Slope. What a blessing they were. The care she received was extraordinary. She was always clean and dressed. My dad visited her everyday and they embraced him as well as my mom and he considers them friends. The food is excellent and they post a menu for the day. The facility is extremely clean and well-kept. Visitors are required to sign in and out. In all the times I went to see my mom, the facility smelled amazing. In the main lobby they serve cookies fresh out of the oven and spa water. When my mom passed I can’t tell you how many of the people on staff cried and hugged my dad. The administrator is responsive. I would trust my family with Western Slope. I also wanted to add that it looks like the picture shown on their website.

My husband spent nearly a month at Western Slope and I will always be grateful for the care and kindness he received. Before deciding on Western Slope, I went to the Medicare site to research ratings on care facilities from Placerville to Roseville. I focused on those with the best patient outcomes related to mobility and the ability to care for themselves at discharge. The whole point of my husband’s stay was to build his strength to both prevent future falls and to allow him to get up if he did fall. I toured five care facilities and Western Slope was the clear winner. You learn a lot about the culture and values of a facility by visiting. Is the front lobby staff welcoming and helpful? Are the residents enjoying that beautiful lobby shown in the brochures or is it off limits to them? Is the staff interacting with the residents in the halls, or just walking by them? The culture and “vibe” at Western Slope was exactly what I was looking for. Ann greeted me from the front desk. Alana was walking through the lobby and stopped to answer my questions and show me around. Robyn, who runs the physical therapy program answered all my questions and showed me the equipment. During my husband’s stay, Robyn’s team provided excellent physical and occupational therapy and Robyn stopped by occasionally just to check in with him. My husband appreciated every member of that team and it was wonderful to see his confidence build as he became stronger and could do more. There is a level or caring and a team spirit at Western Slope that doesn’t happen by accident, it requires leadership. I credit Devin, the site administrator for building that sense of community. Some examples of what I mean by community: Kimber, a nursing assistant would take it upon herself to answer my husband’s call light if she was walking by, even if he wasn’t on her patient list that day. Treasure, Omar, and Rebecca did the same, and all of them did it with a smile. When my husband thought a piece of equipment in rehab would be easier to use if it had pedal straps, Devin stopped by his room to talk more about it and then ordered the straps. I have more examples than room to list them, but you get the idea. Taking my husband to a care facility was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Bring him home a month later stronger and able to stand up unassisted was one of the best days of my life. Do your research and make in-person visits but for me, if I or a loved one ever needs care again, I’ll go here.

This is for the amazing therapy duo Courtney and Bree. They were pivotal helping my husband with his therapy needs and getting him home. Courtney was very comforting, encouraging and helpful; Bree was instrumental with getting my husband to walk again and gave me wonderful advice. I would recommend this facility strictly for the therapy team. Thank you again!

Our mother is currently at Western Slope. I want to give a big shout out to Kimber. She is an awesome CNA and my mother loves her. She always has a smile on her face, always quick to help with anything and always gives mom a hug before she leaves for the day. Thank you Kimber for taking such good care of our mother.

Posting review from my husband who had a major stroke on September 1st: When the hospital released me, they sent me to a rehab place that was supposed to be the best for recovery in the Placerville area. I had a lot of trouble there with depression, insomnia, anxiety, and anger, and requested to move to another location. When I got to Western Slope there was a smoking section outside. I took a couple hits on my nicotine vape and I was restored to better spirits immediately. So I looked up the side effects of cold turkey withdrawal from nicotine, and a report from the internet shows some of the common symptoms include: feeling frustrated, irritable or angry, feeling sad or depressed, feeling anxious of jumpy, trouble concentrating, trouble sleeping (insomnia). Who could get better with all those symptoms of nicotine withdrawal? Another good thing about moving to Western Slope Healthcare, was they have a button that opens the doors to the outside where the other place didn’t. The first place had a million-dollar dining room, but the money would be better spent on doors that opens open itself. That should be a law for people in wheelchairs and walker’s trying to get out in and out of those heavy doors by themselves. At the first place they seemed like they were concentrating on your physical health, at Western Slope they treated the whole body, mind and spirit. I enjoyed my stay there for most of the part, with some outstanding help from Kimber and other nurse assistants that came in to help me – they are the true angels of the world, doing a divine service, helping those who cannot help themselves. Also had great results from Jake with physical therapy. So overall, it’s not paradise, they do have hospital food with no salt, but I’m giving them five stars and highly recommend them. — B. Hooper

Just wanted to say Western Slopes Healthcare hosted such a beautiful Fall Festival this year. You can tell everyone there enjoyed themselves. You could residents laughing and smiling and taking in the moment just like it was their first time. The Hot Chocolate Bar was a huge hit- especially with the weather changes. The set up was gorgeous. Special shot out to the Activity Coordinator, Lady D for bringing so much energy and joy to the day. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. The event was dope, and I truly look forward to seeing more of this in the coming year. Thank you again.

Ok so my review is for my CNA Cora a few nights ago while taking a shower the shower bench I was sitting on clapped and broke Cora never once left my side even though I was laying there completely naked in a small pool of water gathering underneath me firefighters around me other members of staff cora was always the one that had my hand and made sure that I was treated well and that somebody listened to me she made sure that I held onto my dignity and for doing that I have absolute trust in Cora and I just hope somebody reads this and gives Cora the recognition she deserves. Even though Cora is only 6 weeks at this job she is a new graduate but she has proven herself in the trenches I thank her for what she did and I’m in Everett indebted to her and I can never thank her enough she has my love and my admiration and I can’t wait to see what she does next she’s going to do great thank you. Sincerely Christopher w Hershberger.
